To IMPORT your FIREFOX or INTERNET EXPLORER bookmarks to Delicious:

  1. Export your bookmarks according to the directions for the browser you are using.
  2. If you haven’t already, create an account on Delicious.com
  3. Once you are logged in, click on the “Settings” link in the upper right corner.
  4. On the next page, scroll down and click on “Import/Upload” Bookmarks.
  5. On the next page, skip down to section “B.”
  6. Browse your computer for that “BOOKMARKS” html file. (That you saved earlier from your export.)
  7. Decide whether you want your bookmarks to be private or public. (You can change this setting later when you edit individual bookmarks.)
  8. Decide whether or not you want to add “Popular” tags. Tagging allows you to easily categorize your bookmarks by a descriptive word or words so that you can later sort them. I would encourage you to let the service add popular tags. You can also change the tags/options later when you edit individual bookmarks.
  9. Scroll down a little further and decide if you want Delicious to only import bookmarks that you don’t already have stored online, or to overwrite bookmarks that may be already represented.
  10. In Section “C,” decide if you want Delicious to email you when the import is done. (Which could take several minutes depending on the number of bookmarks you are importing.)
  11. At the bottom, click on “IMPORT NOW.”
